NOTE: This model measures approximately 8-10" long, 3-6" wide, and 4-8" tall (without its base). It comes with a separate stand printed in PLA that adds about 3" in height and various accessories (such as engines, wings, etc.) that need to be attached after you receive the item. The "Grid" version of the product has a 1" grid on its deck to make it easy to use in game.

These small airships have had a varied history in Sordane. They were found in use as support ships to larger frigates and dreadnoughts in the military and as transport ships in cities. Over time, the development of other military class airships and the use of sky coaches for transport left skyskiffs in an awkward place. Little was done to develop them as, although they were sleeker and faster than other airships, their lack of crew and storage space, and weak sordalite crystals heavily limited their desirability.

This all changed when a group of bandits known as the Crystal Runners used a skyskiff to rob a noble, the smaller hull allowed it to easily maneuver around the crowded city skies, escaping the local guard in their bulky coaches. The display caught the attention of skiff owners, who began using them for deadly but thrilling races throughout the world. With the advent of skiff racing, skyskiffs boomed in popularity, which eventually led to the formation of the Skiff Racing Commission, a global organization dedicated to regulating these races in the majority of nations across Sordane.

Though their popularity has risen, there are still few advancements in skiff technology as they lack the same military application as other airships. Occasionally there will be new designs added to the approved racing regulations, however, the ship is still limited by the small sordalite crystal powering it, a restriction put in place by the Skiff Racing Commission to prevent widespread destruction in cities.

Size category (Medium, Large, Huge, etc.) is a scale using standard D&D rules. This means that minis will have a size commensurate with the diameter of their base, and that their base will typically conform to the following rules:

  • Small/Tiny - 1"/25mm diameter base or smaller (depends on the mini)
  • Medium - 1"/25mm diameter base
  • Large - 2"/50mm diameter base
  • Huge - 3"/75mm diameter base
  • Gargantuan - typically uses a 4"/100mm diameter base. If the base size is different, it will be noted above in the listing.

32mm (heroic scale) miniatures may have bases that are slightly larger but still close to the sizes listed above.

Product images may include renders, special effects, and/or painting that may not be indicative of the received product.Unless otherwise specified, all products are 3d-printed in gray with either a custom resin mix or PLA. This ensures the products are durable but still hold their detail. With that being said, we still recommend handling the products with care as many have very fine, delicate features that can still be easily broken. In addition, because of the production process, there may be slight variations, indentations, or rough edges that need to be cleaned up before use/painting. We perform a thorough inspection of every product before it's shipped to ensure that it is something that we would be proud to display on our own tables.
