Barkette, Fey-Touched Beast

Renmaeth’s Dream (that is the Fey World) holds many curiosities and strangities, though none as curious nor strange as the Fey-Touched Beasts that lurk within. Beasts made in reflection of those from Tharador, yet are strung of vines and bark rather than sinew and bone. The Barkette is one such beast, and where it and its kin originate from, none who live still know. Even Renmaeth, found frolicking in her Dream will insist they have always been.

Though with their dense population some are bound to spill into the physical world of Tharador too. But with fortune they seem to only congregate in the groves and forests that surround each of the Four Pillars that connect the Fey World to this world. Mostly they are harmless and peaceful, seeming to exhibit grazing-like behavior, though they don’t actually consume anything nor do they have any known digestive systems.

However they do instill great territorial instinct, and the moment a tree near the Pillars is felled, any Barkette’s nearby will rush to the site of the felling and attack the intruders, usually fatally. So the felling of trees in kingdoms that hold Pillars are usually prohibited, or are considered to not be worth the almost-certain death one would face for doing it.

The information below applies to most products on this site. Any exceptions will be noted in the individual item descriptions.

Size references (Medium, Large, Huge, etc.) are done at a 28mm(1″) scale using standard D&D rules. This means that minis will have a size commensurate with the diameter of their base:

  • Small/Tiny – 1″ diameter base or smaller (depends on the mini)
  • Medium – 1″ diameter base
  • Large – 2″ diameter base
  • Huge – 3″ diameter base
  • Gargantuan – typically uses a 4″ diameter base. If the base size is different, it will be noted in the listing.

32mm (heroic scale) miniatures may have bases that are slightly larger.

75mm (display scale) miniatures will typically have a base that is around 3″. Models in this size will have their actual dimensions in their description

  • Product images may include renders, special effects, and/or custom paint that may not be indicative of the received product. We will be adding actual photos of the printed objects as we produce them. If you would like us to send a photo of anything in our shop that doesn’t already have one prior to shipping, please let us know and we’ll be happy to oblige.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all products are 3d-printed in gray with either an ABS-like resin or PLA. This ensures the products are durable but still hold their detail
  • We still recommend handling the products with care as many have very fine, delicate features that can still be easily broken
  • Because of the production process, there may be slight variations, indentations, or rough edges that need to be cleaned up before use/painting
  • Some models require assembly, which may involve sanding, filing, and/or fillers for gaps and seams
  • Dice towers are printed hollow with 2.5mm thick walls. This is to ensure that we are able to provide them at a reasonable price but still have enough strength to hold up to use and packing/unpacking at the gaming table.
  • We perform a thorough inspection of every product before it’s shipped to ensure that it is something that we would be proud to display on our own tables.
