The Moon Devil

The Moon Devil is a beast whose origin is shrouded in mystery. Many ancient tales of the Colossals that once inhabited Karkanoth give a mysterious owl-like monster that watched over hunters to ensure they took only their fair share in its woods. Other ruins in the area have legal documents regarding one Colossal who was sentenced to death for the murder of their hunting partner, using the defence that a giant owl had carried him off instead. The corpse of the hunting partner was never found.

The truth is the Moon Devil has indeed been a presence in Karkanoth’s regions since ancient times. Though as the woods grew thinned and teemed less with life, its presence waned. It appeared once any night lit by any moon, though now with the Endless Moon giving a full moon every night the creature is more active than ever, and is being blamed for a string of gruesome deaths that have recently occurred in the forest of hunters, travellers and even just foresters and herbalists.

The information below applies to most products on this site. Any exceptions will be noted in the individual item descriptions.

Size references (Medium, Large, Huge, etc.) are done at a 28mm(1″) scale using standard D&D rules. This means that minis will have a size commensurate with the diameter of their base:

  • Small/Tiny – 1″ diameter base or smaller (depends on the mini)
  • Medium – 1″ diameter base
  • Large – 2″ diameter base
  • Huge – 3″ diameter base
  • Gargantuan – typically uses a 4″ diameter base. If the base size is different, it will be noted in the listing.

32mm (heroic scale) miniatures may have bases that are slightly larger.

75mm (display scale) miniatures will typically have a base that is around 3″. Models in this size will have their actual dimensions in their description

  • Product images may include renders, special effects, and/or custom paint that may not be indicative of the received product. We will be adding actual photos of the printed objects as we produce them. If you would like us to send a photo of anything in our shop that doesn’t already have one prior to shipping, please let us know and we’ll be happy to oblige.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all products are 3d-printed in gray with either an ABS-like resin or PLA. This ensures the products are durable but still hold their detail
  • We still recommend handling the products with care as many have very fine, delicate features that can still be easily broken
  • Because of the production process, there may be slight variations, indentations, or rough edges that need to be cleaned up before use/painting
  • Some models require assembly, which may involve sanding, filing, and/or fillers for gaps and seams
  • Dice towers are printed hollow with 2.5mm thick walls. This is to ensure that we are able to provide them at a reasonable price but still have enough strength to hold up to use and packing/unpacking at the gaming table.
  • We perform a thorough inspection of every product before it’s shipped to ensure that it is something that we would be proud to display on our own tables.
