Akataka, Bird-folk Ranger

Bird-folk have many colonies spread across the twin continents of Zandorion and Zandoriel. They come in many different colours and feathers, Akataka being one of the Korakor, the Air Soarers. Natives to the isles dotted across the Dividing Sea, Akataka boasts colorful and vibrant feathers in the months of summer, that in winter turn a bleak black.

The Korakor of the isles are far detached from most other typical mortal gods, worshiping instead the aspects of Wind and Sea. These are personified in two of the four faces of Maethromin, thus if any worship a deity with a personification it is Maethromin. Akataka is one such, from a small cloistered isle of high-perching mountains, much of
his kin were disciples of Maethromin. Akataka felt as though their worship was unclear and unguided, often elders would contradict one another in Maethromin’s origin, plans and teachings. Thus he sought to learn from those who may know best, his own children.

Akataka flew many months to the southeast of Tharador, landing in the Elemi lands of Greater Abune and learning from them so that he might better understand Maethromin and correct his elders when he returned from his pilgrimage. In one of his volunteerings as a teacher, he gave himself to the watch of a great beast of Air, Vilamin the Chimera.

The information below applies to most products on this site. Any exceptions will be noted in the individual item descriptions.

Size references (Medium, Large, Huge, etc.) are done at a 28mm(1″) scale using standard D&D rules. This means that minis will have a size commensurate with the diameter of their base:

  • Small/Tiny – 1″ diameter base or smaller (depends on the mini)
  • Medium – 1″ diameter base
  • Large – 2″ diameter base
  • Huge – 3″ diameter base
  • Gargantuan – typically uses a 4″ diameter base. If the base size is different, it will be noted in the listing.

32mm (heroic scale) miniatures may have bases that are slightly larger.

75mm (display scale) miniatures will typically have a base that is around 3″. Models in this size will have their actual dimensions in their description

  • Product images may include renders, special effects, and/or custom paint that may not be indicative of the received product. We will be adding actual photos of the printed objects as we produce them. If you would like us to send a photo of anything in our shop that doesn’t already have one prior to shipping, please let us know and we’ll be happy to oblige.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all products are 3d-printed in gray with either an ABS-like resin or PLA. This ensures the products are durable but still hold their detail
  • We still recommend handling the products with care as many have very fine, delicate features that can still be easily broken
  • Because of the production process, there may be slight variations, indentations, or rough edges that need to be cleaned up before use/painting
  • Some models require assembly, which may involve sanding, filing, and/or fillers for gaps and seams
  • Dice towers are printed hollow with 2.5mm thick walls. This is to ensure that we are able to provide them at a reasonable price but still have enough strength to hold up to use and packing/unpacking at the gaming table.
  • We perform a thorough inspection of every product before it’s shipped to ensure that it is something that we would be proud to display on our own tables.
