Cuthari Researcher

Cuthari researchers are often seen as the epitome of madness and arrogance in Sordane. While the cuthari in general are widely viewed with disdain and only begrudgingly accepted due to the Cuthari-Sordane Treaty and the drugs they provide, the researchers are seen as blasphemous beings whose experiments toy with the domain of the gods. Cuthari researchers spend their unnatural lives seeking to push the bounds of what is considered possible for the natural order of the world. Their time is consumed with experiments, searching to understand how all creatures within Sordane function so that they can hand pick the desired genetic traits to improve the cuthari race. Because of this, despite the cuthari researchers not being evil creatures, almost all citizens of Sordane fear them and avoid them at all costs.

The researchers’ own bodies are proof that no one is truly safe from the whims of their experiments. Almost all researchers are fascinated by the possibilities of incorporating both cuthari and sordalite technology into their bodies, augmenting their bodies at first with basic changes, such as removing the requirement to breathe, or allowing them to see in the dark. Their self-directed experiments tend to result in the growth of masses of writhing tentacles from their backs; tentacles which are used for mundane purposes in daily life and experiments, for subduing future test subjects, and for ever-increasing mechanical replacements and enhancements.

The information below applies to most products on this site. Any exceptions will be noted in the individual item descriptions.

Size references (Medium, Large, Huge, etc.) are done at a 28mm(1″) scale using standard D&D rules. This means that minis will have a size commensurate with the diameter of their base:

  • Small/Tiny – 1″ diameter base or smaller (depends on the mini)
  • Medium – 1″ diameter base
  • Large – 2″ diameter base
  • Huge – 3″ diameter base
  • Gargantuan – typically uses a 4″ diameter base. If the base size is different, it will be noted in the listing.

32mm (heroic scale) miniatures may have bases that are slightly larger.

75mm (display scale) miniatures will typically have a base that is around 3″. Models in this size will have their actual dimensions in their description

  • Product images may include renders, special effects, and/or custom paint that may not be indicative of the received product. We will be adding actual photos of the printed objects as we produce them. If you would like us to send a photo of anything in our shop that doesn’t already have one prior to shipping, please let us know and we’ll be happy to oblige.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all products are 3d-printed in gray with either an ABS-like resin or PLA. This ensures the products are durable but still hold their detail
  • We still recommend handling the products with care as many have very fine, delicate features that can still be easily broken
  • Because of the production process, there may be slight variations, indentations, or rough edges that need to be cleaned up before use/painting
  • Some models require assembly, which may involve sanding, filing, and/or fillers for gaps and seams
  • Dice towers are printed hollow with 2.5mm thick walls. This is to ensure that we are able to provide them at a reasonable price but still have enough strength to hold up to use and packing/unpacking at the gaming table.
  • We perform a thorough inspection of every product before it’s shipped to ensure that it is something that we would be proud to display on our own tables.
