Hyol Droll, Cave Troll

Despite the humorous name, the Hyol Droll is no laughing matter for even an experienced Hex Hunter to deal with. One wrong move and even a Colossals body could be broken by the enormous force of a Hyol Droll’s blows. This subspecies of Troll is native to the northern regions of Tharador, namely the mountains and foothills of Greypeak, Brightstone and Mayreth. This subspecies display abnormal strength and aggressiveness compared to the much more “reasonable” trolls encountered in central Tharador. Some theorise that these were perhaps interfered with by Oldavori Genomancers during the Colossal War, but the Colossals were unable to find a place for them that was not filled by the seemingly superior Hill Giants.

It is possible that the Trolls were thus set free, though hopped up in altered characteristics that emphasised their strength and aggressiveness while dimming their minds. These trolls thus will attack on sight anything they see as a potential meal, be it man or beast – though they still have self preservation and will not attack large or well armed groups, indicating some semblance of intelligence.

The information below applies to most products on this site. Any exceptions will be noted in the individual item descriptions.

Size references (Medium, Large, Huge, etc.) are done at a 28mm(1″) scale using standard D&D rules. This means that minis will have a size commensurate with the diameter of their base:

  • Small/Tiny – 1″ diameter base or smaller (depends on the mini)
  • Medium – 1″ diameter base
  • Large – 2″ diameter base
  • Huge – 3″ diameter base
  • Gargantuan – typically uses a 4″ diameter base. If the base size is different, it will be noted in the listing.

32mm (heroic scale) miniatures may have bases that are slightly larger.

75mm (display scale) miniatures will typically have a base that is around 3″. Models in this size will have their actual dimensions in their description

  • Product images may include renders, special effects, and/or custom paint that may not be indicative of the received product. We will be adding actual photos of the printed objects as we produce them. If you would like us to send a photo of anything in our shop that doesn’t already have one prior to shipping, please let us know and we’ll be happy to oblige.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all products are 3d-printed in gray with either an ABS-like resin or PLA. This ensures the products are durable but still hold their detail
  • We still recommend handling the products with care as many have very fine, delicate features that can still be easily broken
  • Because of the production process, there may be slight variations, indentations, or rough edges that need to be cleaned up before use/painting
  • Some models require assembly, which may involve sanding, filing, and/or fillers for gaps and seams
  • Dice towers are printed hollow with 2.5mm thick walls. This is to ensure that we are able to provide them at a reasonable price but still have enough strength to hold up to use and packing/unpacking at the gaming table.
  • We perform a thorough inspection of every product before it’s shipped to ensure that it is something that we would be proud to display on our own tables.
